Camp Lovewell: Counselors & Specialists

About the Role

Camp Lovewell at 2nd Nature Academy is seeking several positions for its summer day camp program, which runs for 9 weeks throughout the summer season from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Responsibilities & Duties

CAMP COUNSELORS (GENERAL)

camper supervision, assisting other staff members, enthusiastic participation in camp-wide activities


LIFEGUARD

following all camp and safety guidelines to ensure safe swimming/water activities at our saltwater pool and a freshwater pond, including kayaking supervision


SPECIALISTS

planning and implementation of related specialty activities, camper supervision, and enthusiastic participation in camp-wide activities

  • Drama

  • Low ropes/team building (training provided as needed)

  • Archery

  • Sports & field games

  • Arts & Crafts

The Ideal Candidate

  • enjoys working with kids.

  • loves the outdoors.

  • doesn't mind getting dirty.

  • is reliable and responsible.

  • has access to reliable transportation.

Qualifications

Our accrediting body, American Camp Association (ACA), requires that all camp staff must be at least 16 years of age.

  • Lifeguard: Certification from a nationally-recognized organization, such as American Red Cross

  • Drama specialist: Experience in drama/performing arts

  • Low Ropes/Team Building specialist: Current low ropes certification is preferred. However, we are willing to train.

  • Archery specialist: Certification from a nationally-recognized organization, such as USA Archery
