THE PROCESS
01
Assess if your student may be a great fit!
A critical first step of our admissions process is ensuring that all prospective families are familiar with the core values of SNA. Please review:
02
Submit an inquiry
Submit an inquiry with our online form to request an introductory phone call with our Director of Admissions.
03
Complete and submit all application materials & fee
After the introductory phone call, the Director of Admissions will provide the applying family with all required materials. All applicants must pay an application fee at this stage.
04
Schedule a student shadow day
If a completed application passes a preliminary review, we'll discuss options to schedule a student shadow day.
05
Admissions decision is delivered
The Admissions Committee reviews all application materials and Shadow Day feedback from teachers before arriving at an admissions decision. Families are informed of decisions by mail.
*
Requirements
No application will be considered complete and ready for review until all required steps are completed and all elements are submitted. Receipt of application admissions materials must be confirmed by a representative of the Admissions Committee.

Kindergarten Cut-Off
To be eligible to apply to SNA kindergarten program, students must turn 5 by September 30th of the corresponding academic year. For students who do not meet the minimum age requirement or could use an extra year for social-emotional or academic readiness, we recommend our interim-kindergarten program.

SNA seeks students who:
are engaged, innovative, resilient, collaborative, compassionate, and mindful.
possess a strong work ethic.
understand the importance of community and actively participate as positive members.
demonstrate engagement, effort, and achievement.
come highly recommended by educators and community leaders.
are committed to living and learning through social justice, as well as embracing ideals of DEIB.
2nd Nature Academy (SNA) is a diverse learning community built on a foundation of mutual respect, however it is not a special education or therapeutic school. Our educational team strives to make all reasonable accommodations for students with learning differences. Students with IEPs or 504 plans are welcome to apply. These plans will be carefully evaluated and discussed during the application process to determine if appropriate accommodations can be made to meet individual needs. Our goal is to create a positive learning environment which benefits all students enrolled. If you would like to discuss your child’s individual learning needs, please contact our admissions office.
Disclaimer: SNA does not provide special education services including classroom aides, therapists, counseling, emotional support, or other specialist services. While we do our best to make all reasonable accommodations, we cannot modify the curriculum for students who are not able to meet curriculum expectations.
