Thank You Project
Cause:
Event:
9th Annual Water Walk
Outcomes:
Our SLC students planned and executed yet another year's Water Walk, smashing goals and records for our school along the way! Students in emergent kindergarten through grade 12:
carried 465 gallons/3,880 lbs of water.
raised $3,017 in pledged donations.
Older students assisted younger students along their routes, and weighed, and tallied water carried. Our youngest friends at Nature's Pathways came out with handmade pom-poms and signs, and cheered on our tired Water Walkers, giving them the encouragement to keep going!

Event:
SNA Thrift Shop
Outcomes:
A clothing drive in the earlier part of the month saw hundreds of articles of clothing donated! Students went straight from organizing the drive to creating our very own SNA Thrift Shop. During the school community's Fall Festival event, they opened shop and sold clothes, with sales totaling $703, all of which were donated to our two causes of the month to help raise awareness about the importance of mental health.

Operation Homefront
Cause:
Event:
Toy Drive for Veteran & Active Military Families
Outcomes:
Our community rallied for active and veteran military families ahead of the holiday season. By donating a carful of new and excellent-condition toys, SNA service learning students and donors helped to ensure that holiday cheer and joy arrived in the homes of veteran, wounded, and active-duty military families this year.

Cause:
Event:
In-Service Volunteerism Day

Service Learning students visited NSKS and:
unloaded, sorted, and organized incoming truckload of donations
helped sort donations for recipients
assisted transporting and unloading pantry items into recipients' vehicles
Bonus: Our school community rallied during SNACC's plea for community pantry donations during the government shutdown. We were so overwhelmed with donations that all remaining items have been donated to United Way! Thank you.

Cause:
Event:
Clothing & Toiletries Drives
Outcomes:
SNA joined Catie's Closet "Our School Cares Program" and organized a two-part iniative to provide clothing and hygienic necessities for students across Massachussets and New Hampshire.
The surplus of clothing drive donations from October's thrift shop event were redirected to the clothing drive portion of the program.
An accompanying toiletries drive involved:
Creating a donation list by class, from our youngest infants group up through grade 12.
Donated items from sunscreen to feminine hygiene products and everything in between.
February

End 68 Hours of Hunger
Cause:
Event:
Community Food Drive at Shaw's Grocery Store
Outcomes:
Volunteer students and staff showed up to Shaw's (Royal Ridge) on a cold, snowy February Saturday, when they could have been lounging warm in their PJs at home.
One of our high schoolers played the piano for shoppers.
Nashuans doing their weekly shopping filled an entire minivan with donations. See the proof >>
Shaw's supported this effort by donating $1 to the cause for every "Give Back" reusable shopping bags sold.
