Maria (Mariona) Oca Jordan
Spanish
Maria Oca Jordan was born and raised in Barcelona, Spain, and goes by her nickname, Mariona. Trilingual, Mariona speaks Spanish, Catalan, and English fluently. In Spain, she tutored students in grades one and two, and worked as a speech therapist for children. She moved with her family to the United States in 2015 and settled in New Hampshire. Although she misses the Spanish sun, Mariona finds she quite enjoys the snowy New England winters! Mariona began volunteering in the lower elementary classroom at 2nd Nature Academy in 2016, before becoming the school's Spanish teacher. She not only loves teaching her students to speak Spanish, but to bring her culture into the classroom and broaden their horizons. In her spare time, Mariona likes to craft, sew, and bake, and spend time with her husband and two young sons.
