PART-TIME EMERGENT KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM
Pathways to SNA is a place-based, part-time emergent kindergarten program. This inquiry and exploration driven, child-centered class allows early learners to flourish both outdoors and in.
Children are full of wonder and are naturally inquisitive, and thrive most when they learn from the world around them. Research shows that education in outdoor settings increases curiosity and enhances brain development. It creates an environment that encourages children to ask questions and search for solutions, collaborate with peers, develop a sense of place, and care for living things. Learning in natural settings has also been shown to:
-
Promote social-emotional development, improve peer play interactions, and nurture empathy
-
Increase self-regulation and improve resilience
-
Offer mental health benefits and reduce stress

Encourage physical activity and enhance motor development

Improve later academic performance
