Farewell to Mr. Ryan

It is with mixed emotions that we bid Ryan Slate a fond farewell. After working for years at SNA, Mr. Ryan has decided to pursue a new and exciting career in the trades.  

Mr. Ryan began working at SNA as a camp counselor when he was just a teenager. From there, he went on to work a variety of different jobs on campus. He helped out in the daycare, he served lunches in the cafeteria, he worked the front desk, and he taught physical education to K-12 classes. He was a very important part of our school community, interacting with almost every student. One of his students, Johnathan Chiccino, a high school freshman, stated, “Mr. Ryan was kind. I felt like he really cared about me, and he wanted everyone to have fun.”

Coach Yanna Johansen will take over K-12 physical education classes until a permanent replacement can be found. We will miss Mr. Ryan, but we are also excited for what his future will bring. We wish him the best of luck in his new career. He will always be a special member of our school community.
