On the morning of Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, students, staff, parents, and SNA community members gathered together at Mine Falls Park in Nashua, New Hampshire for a 5k fundraiser organized by Mrs. Hernandez on behalf of Mrs. Pearson. Mrs. Pearson, a long time SNA teacher and school librarian, had been diagnosed with stomach cancer over the summer.
Mrs. Hernandez had lost her mother to cancer five years earlier, and she wanted to support another family struggling with this disease in any way she could. Inspired by her experience and driven by a desire to help, she brought people together to make a difference.
Thanks to everyone in the community, the event came to life. Mrs. Quinn-Stearns built the registration forms, Mrs. Ayer helped donate items for the event, Mrs. Hernandez handled the permits, and student, staff, and parent volunteers helped with t-shirts and raffle baskets.
The event was well attended, and everyone had fun while working to raise money for Mrs. Pearson. The event raised $3,500, enough to fly Mrs. Pearson’s sister, Pippa Frith, from the UK to be with her in her final days. Even people on the trail stopped by the event to donate, showing how generous and welcoming our community is. The fundraiser was a meaningful way to show support and make a difference for a cherished and beloved staff member and her family.
