Our school works annually with the Thank You Project (TYP), a non-profit organization that works to build water wells in Nigeria to give communities access to clean and safe water. The Water Walk is an annual fundraiser for the TYP, and the whole school, K-12, participated.
On September 23, 2025, Charles Okorie, founder of the TYP, came to speak to SNA students about the goals and accomplishments of the organization. To date, they have successfully built seven wells throughout Nigeria, and they are continually working to build more. Students learned about the hardships these communities face, and they gained compassion for those who have to work extremely hard just to meet their basic needs.
On October 1, 2025, we had our own water walk at SNA. Students walked from the Camp Lovewell Barn to the SNA barn while carrying buckets of various amounts of water. To raise money, donors either pledged a set amount of money or a specific amount per pound carried by individual students. Our goal was to raise $2,000, and thanks to everybody who was kind enough to donate, we raised $3,017! Compared to last year's total of around $1,000, this is a huge breakthrough, and we greatly appreciate everyone who participated, facilitated, and contributed to this cause.
