On December 18th, 2025, SNA high school service learning students took a trip to spend a few hours volunteering at the Nashua Soup Kitchen & Shelter (NSKS), located on 2 Quincy Street in downtown Nashua. This is the second year SNA students spent time volunteering at the shelter, and after such a positive community experience last year, they decided to do it again.

Similar to last year, students helped out in a variety of ways; organizing refrigerated items, sorting clothing and food donations from trucks, assisting those in need with loading pantry items into their carts, and much more. A few high school students from the service learning class shared how this impactful experience shaped their perspectives. “I don't think we realize how much these shelters do for these communities until we take part in it, and it puts a lot of things into perspective,” said 9th grader Braela Stearns. 11th grader Fadi Al-Sarabi stated, “After restocking and organizing for two hours straight, I have realized just how much work and thought has to go into being able to maintain such a kitchen.” This service learning trip proved to be a valuable experience for those who got the opportunity to volunteer, and it is something high school students look forward to doing next year.
