Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a celebration of light over darkness and good over evil. The main story comes from the story Ramayana, celebrating Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya. Diwali is celebrated on “no moon day,” which is the first night of the first quarter of the lunar month, and it lasts for five days.

This year, on Wednesday, October 22, the upper school participated in a fashion show led by Ms. Rav and Mrs. Subramaniam to celebrate the holiday of Diwali. K-12 students who were not participating gathered in the gymnasium to watch. Prior to the show, bright and colorful lights had been hung up and traditional Indian decorations were also set up. Students wore traditional clothing such as sarees, lehenga, and kurta, many of which were designed by Ms. Rav herself. Those who wore traditional clothing were invited to join for an optional group photo. Ms. Rav expressed appreciation for all who attended and participated in the show.
